Width: 11.5" Length: 9"
Materials/Techniques: Raw edge appliqué onto a hand dyed background. The buildings were created by using a found object as a stamp with black acrylic paint. The street is outlined with couched six strand embroidery floss and the birds are embroidered. I used a yellow crayon to put a little moonshine on the buildings. The moon is sewn down by hand. I used felt in the middle and loose outline machine quilting with clear thread.
Artist Statement: I am inspired by the city I live in that has a central circle surrounded by tall buildings. There are many cities that have this theme, perhaps you live in one.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $50 for the AAQI.
