Artist Statement: The creation of this quilt was part of my grief therapy when a dear friend died. Mary was also the sister of another beloved friend. I needed to honor her memory in a way meaningful to the three of us. Mary loved life, children, animals, nature and was a giving and loving woman. So a nature theme seemed most appropriate. Working on this quilt and knowing that its auction might help Alzheimer's research IS the spirit of Mary. I can just see her saying "YES" to this concept.
Dedication: This quilt is dedicated to the memory of Mary Gibian Haggerty (1932-2011), a wonderful sister and friend and whom for both man and beast, Mary was the woman you wanted to be at your side.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $41.57 for the AAQI.
