Materials/Techniques: This art piece is made of cotton and silk fabrics and cotton embroidery threads. Techniques are machine piecing; hand stitched appliqué, embroidery and quilting.
Artist Statement: This crazy quilt heart was made in honor and memory of my father, Ray Cressman, who passed away July 24, 2012 at age 89 after a 4 year battle with Alzheimer's disease. The pieces and embroidery on the heart symbolize our hearts mending as we grieve the loss of our father and husband. I made the crazy quilt heart, my 93 year old mother did the embroidery and my sister added the charm butterfly.
Dedication: To Mother who was Dad's loving and dedicated caregiver.
