Width: 8.5" Length: 10.75"
Materials/Techniques: The materials are of cotton, including the batting. It is such fun to get creative and use abilities that most would use by themselves.
Artist Statement: I wanted to show a little humor with the cat and the butterfly so I tried to portray the cat hiding behind the flowers and the brave little butterfly landing so close to him. The background flowers and leaves were done with felt tip pens and alcohol, then free-motion stitched around each one. The yellow daisies are silk flowers that have been anchored down and their fuzzy centers were glued on top. There is two layers of free-form cut grass stitched down. I crocheted the butterfly and glued a magnet on the back so you can use it somewhere else if you like. This quilt was also made for the April QAMC, using the color yellow.
Dedication: To anyone who loves butterflies and cats.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $65 for the AAQI.
