Materials/Techniques: The fabric is cotton, cut to make one-inch squares. The grey cells are replaced with print, plaid and solid colors. The batting is washable wool and the binding is satin.
Artist Statement: After my mother died from Alzheimer's, my father and I started making quilts. We completed 17 nine-patch quilts and this series of three quilts are the last of her stash. They represent the progression of plaque cells that interrupts brain function.
Dedication: To Herbert Holland who stayed by my mother until the end.
