Materials/Techniques: Traditional Courthouse Steps block with a piece of Kente cloth as the center and embellished with three-dimensional flowers and beads. Kente cloth is one of Ghana's best-known products and is hand woven with silk and cotton. A colleague of mine who travelled there on business in the early 1990s purchased this piece in Ghana. I have had it ever since and thought it would add interest to these little quilts.
Artist Statement: I made this quilt to raise funds for Alzheimer’s research and to show my support for the AAQI.
Dedication: To those suffering with this terrible disease and those caring for them.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $50.81 for the AAQI.
