Bedford, IN USA
Width: 9" Length: 9"
Materials/Techniques: Cotton fabric and batting, paper pieced and machine quilted.
Artist Statement: I drew this pattern of a compass design because I could not find a pattern I liked. The points are "off course" reflecting the brains of those affected by this disease. The white color represents the original light of the person and as the disease takes over, the light star starts to fade which is represented by the black and white fabric. The black background shows the light fading in to darkness. The white fabric has waves in it showing the stormy path of the disease.
Dedication: This quilt is dedicated to my Aunt Martha who was a bright, articulate lady whose light faded in to darkness.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $55.00 for the AAQI.
