Materials/Techniques: It is raw-edged fused appliqué made from cotton and batik fabrics.

Artist Statement: I couldn't get this image out of my mind. I saw it on a bulletin cover during a church service. To me it says that new life comes out of the struggle of those who came before. Today many are struggling with Alzheimer's, but thanks to the work of many researchers, fundraisers and the people behind AAQI, those to come will have a new life without the devastation of Alzheimer's hanging over them.
