Indianapolis, IN USA
Width: 8.5" Length: 11.5"
Materials/Techniques: The figures are a thin dress cotton appliquéd to a polyester (used to be a head scarf ) background. I used a flannel inner layer. Quilted and sewn on a Pfaff Hobby 1142 home sewing machine, paint pens were used to enhance and slightly alter the colors of the clothing.
Artist Statement: Every culture has it's ceremonies. This is another little quilt using the figural dress fabric. I cut and manipulated the fabric to change two standing figures into one sitting down and one kneeling. You can make up your own story as to the nature of this ceremony.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $70.00 for the AAQI.
