Width: 11.5" Length: 8.75"
Materials/Techniques: I laid strips of fabric on batting and free motion quilted over it. I painted the lake fabric and the refection. It is thread signed.
Artist Statement: Before Mt. St. Helens blew my family would camp at its base. We made coffee on the campfire in a 3 lb. coffee can. You have to let it settle before drinking. We picked huckleberries for pancakes in the morning. My teenage girlfriend and I would rent a row boat from grumpy old Harry Truman. He asked "Do you girls know how to row a boat?" We said yes, after all, how hard could it be? After we went in circles for a time in Spirit Lake we figured it out. We rowed and rowed and when we got tired we thought we better go back. Oh my, we were far from the dock. Maybe look where you are going and take a glance back now and then.
Dedication: I dedicate these quilts to all caregivers, to my mother who had Alzheimer's and to my two friends Barbara and Ele' who are great caregivers.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
