Designer: Heather at www.inventivedenim.com, used with written permission.Materials/Techniques: I used a better pair of my old jeans that I couldn't get into anymore, along with some bright multicolored fabric, cotton batting, threads and backing.
Artist Statement: Heather’s quilt was much bigger than what we do for AAQI, but where there is a will there is a way. To begin with I had to do a little math to get the circles the right size to fit our measurements. After cutting the circles, bright multicolored fabric was fused in the center of each circle. I then sewed all the circles together forming rows and ironed each seam open. The backing fabric was sewn on when sewing around each window opening. Using a stiff brush I fringed the edges of each circle, folded the edges of each side to the front of the quilt and hand sewed it in place. While looking at this little quilt I had an idea to put a small photo in three or four of the windows. Just a thought….
