Width: 8.5" Length: 11"
Caryl Bryer Fallert, www.bryerpatch.com, used with written permission.
Materials/Techniques: I chose a flowered fabric for the background, and black on white polka dot fabric for one side of the tuck, with white polka dot fabric for the other. Then each tuck was folded and tacked down to form the design. All fabric used is cotton, including the batting and thread.
Artist Statement: I was so intrigued by the quilt submitted by Caryl Bryer Fallert for the December auction that I went to her website and was drawn to her quilt, Illusions #27. Although it was much bigger than what we do, with her permission, I challenged myself. I had no pattern to go by, just pictures from her website. Through some trial and error(s) this is what my finished quilt looks like. These illusion quilts are to be viewed from the side to show two separate color factors; they look light from one side and darker from the other.
Dedication: To all care givers who find their patients to be a little challenging at times, remember that there is still a beauty on the inside of each one. We just have trouble seeing that beauty at times. May you all be blessed for what you do. Thank you.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $45.00 for the AAQI.
