Materials/Techniques: This is a fussy cut center square framed with strips.

Artist Statement: Butterflies are seen as free. They change from caterpillars to beautiful flying forms. They change all their lives; some good, some bad, just like people with Alzheimer’s disease.

Dedication: To my grandmother, Hazel Bryant Childress Nekcols, who had Alzheimer’s disease and lived to be 95. She was a quilter.
