Artist Statement: Another in a series of alphabet/flower quilts. This plant, also known as Red Hot Poker, sends up its flower stalk around the Fourth of July here.

Dedication: In memory of my friend Chris, who suffered from a non-Alzheimer's dementia, and died too soon. I lost a friend, her daughter lost a mother and the world lost a wonderful soul.
