Width: 8.75" Length: 11"
Materials/Techniques: I used cotton fabrics all the way through, even the batting. I tried some embroidery stitches that are on my machine with variegated rayon thread. Then began the doodling with DMC Pearl cotton threads, orange yarn that is couched down, a string of purple plastic beads, and some little silver beads.
Artist Statement: This was the first time I went out of the box, so to speak, to create something for which I had no pattern, not even in my head, to go by. I think I will try this again. I hope those who feel strange about trying new things will get some ideas of your own and be creative. It doesn't matter what you do, it is never wrong when making these little quilts for AAQI. I had an art teacher tell me one time that if you are drawing a tree, flower, mountain, etc., don't ever say it isn't right. You may be driving down the road someday and see that very tree, etc. Go for it.
Dedication: To all who enjoy creating for a cause.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $50.00 for the AAQI.
