Materials/Techniques: Cotton fabric background, interfacing, flannel batting, paint pens, commercial patch. Cotton /poly and invisible thread were used with rough edge appliqué and machine quilting.

Artist Statement: While cleaning out my sewing cabinet drawers I came across this Deutschland patch. It reminded me of my Uncle Paul who was stationed in Germany while in the military. He met and married a German lady and they still live in Germany. He told me the roses in Germany are just as beautiful as they are here. When I found the patch I knew I had to add a rose to the picture.
