Materials/Techniques: Appliquéd trees and birds on cotton with quilted trees in machine embroidery stitches and a handmade binding.

Artist Statement: Trees have always been calming for me. They speak of summers with my grandparents, listening to the wind and the birds in the hot Texas summer. Most of the trees of my childhood are gone now, leaving me with nothing but memories. I cannot imagine what it would be like to not have those memories.
