Materials/Techniques: I have used a cotton background. Her hat is black velvet and her scarf is made from two layers of a metallic mesh ribbon.

Artist Statement: I was asked why I am doing this. My answer, "Because I can." I am not a philanthropist or a scientist. Quilts I can do! AAQI has given me the chance to help. Ert� was a Russian-born French artist and designer known by the pseudonym Ert� which is the French pronunciation of his initials. Romain de Tirtoff (23 November 1892 � 21 April 1990) was a diversely talented 20th-century artist and designer who flourished in an array of fields, including fashion, jewelry, graphic arts, costume and set design for film, theatre, opera, and interior decor. This is my interpretation of his work called The Glance.
