Width: 8.75" Length: 11.25"
Materials/Techniques: Pieced strips of cotton fabric, machine-quilted, with appliquéd motifs (tree, bird, leaves, acorns) using fusible fabric, top-stitched.
Artist Statement: This is the first art quilt I've ever made. I did it in a workshop that Lisa Ellis gave. I was very much inspired by her grace as an artist, teacher and encourager. The theme, "Autumn Reverie", was suggested by the mixture of beauty, solitude, and inevitable change that I feel at this time of the year. Like life, the colors of fall are rich. Part of their beauty is knowing that they won't last.
