Materials/Techniques: Cotton fabrics and thread, wool yarn, nylon ribbon, machine pieced and appliquéd.

Artist Statement: This little quilt came together because of a larger quilt I made using these colors. I really enjoy the act of taking small pieces of fabric in various colors and combining them to create a new piece of cloth. With this piece, I was reminded of a fenced off meadow because of the strip across the bottom. Naturally, I thought of summer butterflies dancing across the meadow flowers. I found some butterflies on a small piece of vintage fabric that worked well on the background. I added the yarn and ribbon to create more texture and movement.
