Materials/Techniques: I used all cotton fabrics on the quilt, even the batting. The leaf stitch on the background was done by machine. I wanted it to resemble wallpaper.
Artist Statement: I made this mini quilt by fussy cutting the flowers and then doing a little embroidery over them, mainly to hold them in place, even though they were each heat pressed in place, plus I wanted to add some highlights. I got a little carried away with the little embroidered daisies. French knots are used in the centers of each flower. The vase was done by making a grid of tucks then doing a hand stitched zigzag with embroidery thread to hold it in place. A few extra embroidery stitches were added just because. The light brown at the bottom is to represent a tabletop that the vase is sitting on.
