Width: 8" Length: 11"
Materials/Techniques: I drew these hummingbirds on PFD cloth and colored them with NeoColor II crayons and water. I used beads and some sliver thread when I free motion quilted the leaves in the background. They are thread signed.
Artist Statement: Every spring the hummingbirds come to my house. I no longer put out feeders but plant things they like to feed on, penstemons, foxgloves, the salvia family and many others. They like things with a cone shape. I have a hibiscus tree that they love. They are in motion nearly all the time. Once in a while they sit on a branch high up and they seem to choose that branch often. I have made three little quilts and they are nice as a single or all three as a triptych.
