Artist Statement: My mother-in-law, Bertha Cotton, suffered with Alzheimer's for 12 years, until she was 92 years old. She loved the colors of coral and turquoise/teal, so they were the inspirations for this quilt. This disappearing nine patch in her colors represents the fading away aspect of Alzheimer's. There are fabrics showing flowers and nature, since she had such a love of both. She was born in Norway and came to live in the States at age five. She was very proud of her heritage, hence the title in Norwegian, "Her Favorite Colors."
Dedication: To Bertha Torkelsen Cotton (1917-2008), Baldwin, NY and New Port Richey, FL.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $7.50 for AAQI.
