Materials/Techniques: This quilt stared out as unbleached muslin that I used the soy milk and water color technique of painting to create a fall scene. I love the beautiful colors of fall and feel that leaves fall like the memories of our lives are lost to Alzheimer’s. After painting, this quilt was free-motion quilted to enhance the quilt. I plan to do more painting on fabric quilts.
Artist Statement: I have been a lifelong sewer but am now using my retirement years to quilt more. I was a teacher and love learning so I take quilt classes as often as possible. I recently took a class on painting on fabric with Juanita Yeager and enjoyed it so much that I am now painting and turning these works into AAQI quilts.
