Materials/Techniques: I used cotton and poly fabric, invisible and cotton threads and paint pens. All the parts are rough-cut appliquéd. I quilted around the jacket and then quilted each stripe in the wallpaper to make the image stand out more.
Artist Statement: Do you remember tweed jackets, elbow patches, chunky gold chains, turtlenecks, patch pockets and striped wallpaper? Or big lapel pins? Maybe you never combined all of these into one outfit but I bet you have worn or seen at least one of these fashion statements. My little quilt began with the tweed type upholstery fabric that sparked this image.
