JoAnn Stowell
Longview, WA USA
Width: 11.5" Length: 8.5"
Materials/Techniques: I drew on white fabric, then attempted to use inks a friend gave me. I do love their head strong nature to go where they want to go. (The inks, that is.) I did a lot of orange thread painting on his breast and I think I used school glue for resist on his wing.
Artist Statement: I love birds and sometimes take pictures and look them up and draw from both. I love nature and most things alive. I’m not so crazy about snakes but I know we are all here for a purpose. I really like birds in nature. I feed them but they insist on eating or replanting my sunflowers. Maybe they know best. They always grow in some other place.
