Bidwell C. Drake
Conroe, TX USAWidth:
This little quilt is a very loose interpretation of Kaffe Fassettís handkerchief squares; so loose that I doubt he would claim it!Materials/Techniques:
Homespun cottons; machine pieced and machine quilted.Artist's Statement:
We learn something from each quilt, donít we? This one, made from extra squares of a much larger quilt which actually came out quite well, taught me to never again try to match up striped homespun because it wiggles under the ruler, and every one of the 1680 pieces had to be fussy cut. When I put misaligned pieces together, the squares made me think of an Alzheimerís patient trying to walk a straight path through her memory.
Bidwell C. Drake Dedication:
For Aunt Jo, who was a wonderful stitcher years ago, but who now lives in an Alzheimerís facility and canít remember any of it.
This quilt is displayed with Fast Finish Triangles
This quilt earned $35 for Alzheimer's research.
