Materials/Techniques: Yo-yos are made by gathering circles of fabric (by hand, of course). Yo-yo quilts were very popular in the 1920’s, 1930’s, and 1940’s. This quilt was made with cotton and cotton blends donated by Janet Hardie and her sister, Jean Becker, Agnes Nelson, Annalee Ladd, Johnny Rex & Sue Wilson, Doris Messimer, Opal Vega, and the War & Peace Quilters. The black background was machine-quilted.
Artist Statement: I like yo-yos, and they look striking on a black background!
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $46.19 for the AAQI.
