Materials/Techniques: All cotton fabrics, some vintage. Hand appliquéd, embroidered and quilted.

Artist Statement: A vintage quilt dated 1941 in embroidery was the inspiration for this little bird in loving memory of my mother. She grew up on a farm and she loved and appreciated all of nature. She was especially fond of the cheerful little birds in the lobby of the care facility where she lived the last few years of her life.

Dedication: In loving memory of Verna Erickson Smith, my sweet gentle Mom.
