Artist Statement: This quilt was made for a word challenge. The word is “friendship”. The background was made from strips of light fabrics torn to have a raw edge and fused to a background; the woven fabrics symbolize how our lives have become entwined. The circles are fabrics that represent each of us in our small group; we could each pick out the other by the fabrics used. They are entwined again to signify how our friendship has blended our lives. Each of our names is quilted into the background.
Dedication: For my Dad, Homer C. (Tex) Jackson.
