Materials/Techniques: Cotton fabric with hand painted angels, machine appliquéd telephone handset and machine embroidered letters. Hand and machine quilted. Phone and angel images are from public domain clip art.

Artist Statement: A friend of mine came home from vacation last year around Christmas time to find 47 voicemails (and counting) from her mother, wishing her a "Happy Christmas!" While I am sure it was very distressing at the time, I was trying to find a way to picture the situation, but also to make it happy for the future. Quite often we can find something humorous years after the fact. Without that, I think we would go crazy.
