Materials/Techniques: Each cottage is quilted separately, trimmed with raw edges showing, and stitched onto the background fabric. I used buttons, trim, rick-rack, and floral rosettes to decorate the houses. I then added hand-embroidered flowers and a piece of crocheted trim for the picket fence.

Artist Statement: I was inspired to make this quilt when I saw Tania Angelo's "Quilted Cottages" in the Winter 2012 issue of Sew Somerset. I had a lot of fun creating my own quilted cottages from her ideas.
