Materials/Techniques: Machine appliqué, quilted with the appliqué.
Artist's Statement: Recently my mother gave me an old block that my grandmother had made. It was 18” x 17”, so I traced the pieces and reduced them by 60%. I used the colors she used in her block — red and yellow — and used muslin for the background, like Grandma did. I was very happy with the results.
