Norma Hornung
Jelling, Denmark
Width: 8.5" Length: 11"
Designer: Original designMaterials/Techniques: Mostly my own hand dyed cotton with a few commercial fabrics. Needle turn appliqué, the center part has an extra layer of batting so the tree could stand out. Batting is 80/20 cotton/polyester, machine quilted. Threads used are variegated polyester and silk with a mini piped binding.
Artist Statement: I have been practicing needle turn appliqué and had this little tree lying around when I realized that it met the proportions for an AAQI quilt. My mother-in-law had this disease and lived long enough that it got very severe which was awful to witness.
