Designer: Original designMaterials/Techniques: All cotton fabrics, including batting, along with glass seed and bugle beads, and #3 pearl cotton threads.
Artist Statement: The challenge for August was circles, and I thought about the Japanese Temari Thread Balls that I have been making for the past few years. I decided to create a "flat" or button Temari design. There are many circles inside the master circle,(one on the outside), which by the way was done separate from the background, and then hand appliquéd on. How many can you count? I had such fun creating this "marker dyed" fabric, and then did a little machine embroidery over the designs of leaves that just happened to show up in the design.
