Artist Statement: One evening, deep in the grip of Alzheimer's disease, my grandmother looked up at the corner of her room. "Look, there's a crowd," she exclaimed. "They're having a parade." Two days later, on January 11, 2011, she joined that parade, forever leaving behind the darkness of Alzheimer's disease.
