Designer: Original designMaterials/Techniques: The design was drawn on white fabric with a brown Sharpie pen, then colored with NeoColor II crayons and water. I love the flow of color with a lot of water. There are a lot of what I call happy mistakes. You never know where that water is going. I then free motion quilted it, and used some shimmer threads on the stems. It is thread signed.
Artist Statement: All through school, every spring kids picked strawberries. My brothers lasted a day and I lasted all season. It is hard work and a good thing to learn when you are young. The berries in the northwest are smaller than some but sweet and red all the way through. It’s hard work but has a good reward.
