Artist Statement: I made an apron with this bright floral fabric for a dear friend for her birthday. It's a happy memory. The beads and heart charm were found in a little coastal town in South Africa called Umhlanga. It was a joy to work on this quilt as I watched the waves crashing outside and a rugby game on TV inside. What a life!
