Designer: Original designMaterials/Techniques: This quilt was machine pieced and quilted using cotton threads and fabrics. The batting is a 50/50 poly/cotton blend.
Artist Statement: What I had in mind for this little quilt was to make something colorful! The design came about while I was experimenting in EQ7 with blocks called "Tiramisu.” I noticed that when set side by side in a horizontal setting they gave the appearance of larger squares set on point with their corners overlapping. I liked the look but the block design in the software has an un-pieced square in the center. I thought that left an empty looking place, so I replaced that with an hourglass shaped four-patch, then added a pieced inner border to finish the outer corner squares as "cabins" along the sides or "birds" in the corners.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $95 for the AAQI.
