Salem, OR USA
Width: 8.5" Length: 8.75"
Materials/Techniques: Cotton piecing and backing, batting 80% cotton, 20% poly and quilted with Isacord 40 wt. poly.
Artist Statement: I drafted the design on transparent velum and paper pieced the half squares triangles. It took longer to get the paper out then it took to piece the quilt. I make the Priority Quilts because of the devastating effect Alzheimer's is having on my family.
Dedication: “Lavender blue, dilly, dilly, lavender green…” An English folk song my family sang in our youth. I didn’t think that lavender could be blue or green but my older sister Rosie explained it to me every time I asked. She hasn’t sung for a very long time and hasn’t talked since last October. My brother-in-law Art is at her side every day and she is still his queen. The roses in the quilting are for Rosalie. The quilt is dedicated to them both.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $41.57 for the AAQI.
