Materials/Techniques: All cotton fabrics, batting and backing. Processes involve machine embroidery cross-stitch, machine embroidery lettering and words, hand quilting of the background sky and cloud, and appliqué. The cross-stitch design was downloaded, however, the rest of the original quilt design is mine.

Artist Statement: This is in honor of my mother-in-law, who suffered from Alzheimer’s for over 10 years before she passed away. It illustrates her life story. There are bluebonnets, wisteria vines and a country home to represent her beginnings in Texas. There is a representation of the sand and ocean where she spent many years, and a representation of the terrible dark cloud that made her forget all those she held most dear.
