1117 - Blocks of Time

Materials/Techniques: All cotton; bargello.
Artist's Statement: Blocks of Time was made in the bargello style. It represents (upper left) birth and sunny life, everything is green and happy. But as the years go by, the mind starts to slip (see where the squares don’t match at the bottom in column 5). As more time goes by, the mind slips even more until nothing make sense. Slowly everything goes blank (last square of yellow is on the wrong side).

Dedication: “Blocks of Time” was made in memory of my husband’s grandmother (Mema). She loved me as if I was her natural granddaughter.
This quilt is displayed with Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $40 for Alzheimer's research.
