Artist Statement: I was working on a quilt and it came out too big. I was very frustrated with myself because I just could not get the math right. These are the scraps. Sewing is difficult for me these days due to an injury, but it is my passion. As I sewed the scraps together, I began to calm down. I was making new fabric from a pile a scraps. The brightness was so cheerful. I felt my frustration leave me and my heart soar. I decided I needed a Butterfly to glide by in this jungle of color!
Dedication: Sometimes we are so frustrated because in the past these familiar things were so easy. Helping loved ones find a way to retain their bliss is a very hard job. We do it because we love them.
