Designer: Original designMaterials/Techniques: Cottons, polyester batting; machine-pieced background, machine appliquéd words; home machine quilting.
Artist Statement: ‘Five loaves & two fish.’ These five little words remind me of one my favorite Bible stories. Each of the four Gospels tells of Jesus feeding the five thousand—Mathew 14:13-21; Mark 6:30-44; Luke 9:10-17; and John 6:1-13—and only one other miracle is recounted by every Gospel writer: the Resurrection. There is another story of feeding the multitude—4000 with 7 fish—that is told in two of the Gospels.

Dedication: To the only Lutheran Deacon that I know: Randy Vessey. A retired pharmacist, Randy studied for several years and passed all the necessary tests to be accredited. While he was still studying, he led our congregation for a year while we were between pastors; a vacancy pastor would come once a month to give us Holy Communion. We value all of our Elders but Randy is special.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
