This quilt is the mirror image of #1104, “A Tulip for Gladys”. Shapes were free form cut out of two pieces of fabric and traded between each other to form two images, the same, yet different.
My brother died from Alzheimer’s at age 59. He was known in his neighborhood for the colorful flower garden in his front yard. He was a patent attorney and, as memory failed, his flowers replaced the love of science he had enjoyed his entire life.
