Materials/Techniques: The soil is a silk and polyester fabric that was from recycled drapery samples a friend shared with me. I used fusible appliqué for the flowers and greenery, then I hand quilted it creating the rain drops. The rain on the petals and leaves are French knots, done with Superior Glitter thread. This may not show up very well in the photo.

Artist Statement: I love to go for walks in the rain but sometimes the rain in Florida is too heavy for walking. On a recent rainy day I decided to make this quilt.
