Materials/Techniques: Hand pieced and quilted using the English paper piecing method from donated hexagons.

Artist Statement: This was a challenge to myself to use what was included in a baggie of tiny hexagons that a friend's mother had started years ago. Sometimes making the best of what you are given can produce something unexpectedly better than what you believed was possible.

Dedication: To a dear colleague who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s at the same time I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It helped me not to feel sorry for my situation and almost 15 years later to be grateful I am still here and quilting.
