Moira McSpadden, thequiltedsnail.com, used with written permission.
Materials/Techniques: Made with cotton fabrics, batting and thread. Paper pieced and sewn on a Bernina 830 machine and I hand stitched the final binding closure. The entire quilt was made with love.
Artist Statement: The clearly printed fabric represents clear thinking, and as you go around the "sunburst", thinking gets blurred and darker. I made this quilt to honor my mother, Melba Gene Brown Martin, who is presently going through her journey through Alzheimer's. The quilt is an adaptation of Drunkard's Path block designed by Moira McSpadden, who has graciously given her permission for me to submit this to the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative.
Dedication: Dedicated to my mother, Melba Gene Brown Martin, born 25 October 1928, Hayes, LA.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $32.33 for the AAQI.
