Nancy Keuss Cable
Chapel Hill, NC USA
Width: 10.5" Length: 8.25"
Designer: Beth Maddocks, Piece By Number, used with written permission.Materials/Techniques: Center block design is "Petite Posies" pattern made with 100% cottons and batiks. Jacquard paints used in borders, and embellished with beadwork then machine quilted. Four fast finish triangles for hanging any orientation.
Artist Statement: A recent monthly block drawing of my quilt guild requested we make that month's block using "citrusy" colors...lime, yellow, orange, etc. The color combination was so beautiful I knew I had to use it in an AAQI quilt. Constructing 14 small "posies" in "citrusy" colors and then adding a touch of "raspberry", speaks of warm summer months. I added to the design using Jacquard fabric paints to mimic the colors in the quilt, on the borders, then, hand embellished using assorted beads. This is my 30th quilt for AAQI!
