Materials/Techniques: Paper pieced, cotton fabrics.

Artist Statement: My husband found the ratio of stars to stripes on the internet. I used my skills from my math teaching days to convert his findings to dimensions for the sections and drew out the paper piecing design. The stars were created by a built-in stitch on my sewing machine. The gold piping was added to make the flag stand out.

Dedication: Dedicated to the researchers in hopes of finding a cure.

This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
